Evergreen Healthcare Group is seeking a full-time Medical Billing Specialist to support Medicare, Medicare Advantage, insurance, and Medicaid billing operations. This role is responsible for timely billing, resolving accounts receivable activities, communicating with facilities to obtain needed documentation, reviewing eligibility when needed, and posting adjustments.
The position is fully remote and supports a fast-paced healthcare billing environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential functions
- Understand Medicare, insurance, and Medicaid health plans
- Have insurance billing experience; multi-state billing experience is a plus
- Be able to contact Medicare, insurance, or Medicaid health plans when required
- Have a strong working knowledge of the UB-04 form, including revenue codes, value codes, occurrence codes, and type of bill
- Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels
- Understand HIPAA and government regulatory compliance requirements
- Work well under pressure, multitask, prioritize, and adapt as needed
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and positive communication
- Identify opportunities to improve accounts receivable performance
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Be organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
Education and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a long-term care business office or medical billing/collections role
- Working knowledge of computers, including hardware and software
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or training
- Strong attitude, initiative, patience, enthusiasm, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organization and communication skills
