Medical Records Specialist

Join a nationwide revenue cycle organization as a Medical Records Specialist supporting medical data workflows and timely case processing through CMS portals.

This role is fully remote and focused on reviewing records, organizing documentation, and preparing cases for clinical review.

Schedule

  • Training: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm CST
  • Post-training: Monday-Friday, 10:30am-7:00pm CST
  • 1-2 weekends per month
  • Must be open to rotating weekends and holidays
  • Fully remote; private, distraction-free workspace required
  • HIPAA-compliant setup required

Key responsibilities

  • Navigate CMS portals to process and enter case data into internal systems
  • Review medical records for eligibility and completeness
  • Upload and organize documentation from external client sites into internal databases
  • Ensure all medical record components are accurate and complete before routing to clinical reviewers
  • Support insurance claim decisions by preparing records for clinical insight and review
  • Respond to client inquiries via email regarding case status, documentation, and general information
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and company standards while delivering customer service
Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical records or medical claims
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Must not reside in restricted locations: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, HI, ME, NJ, NY, RI, WA, or Chicago
