AC3 is a specialty healthcare organization founded by oncologists to help specialty practices thrive through better data, purposeful technology, and collaboration.
This role is responsible for accurately coding diagnoses and procedures for claims, staying current with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, billing regulations, and payer policies. The position supports coding and billing across multiple medical specialties and works closely with revenue cycle, client practices, and management teams.
This is a hybrid position with required onsite training in South Bend, IN and a combination of remote and onsite work. The ideal candidate should live within 30 miles of the South Bend office.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more of the following credentials:
- CPC
- CHONC
- CCS
- CCS-P
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, POS, and modifiers
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records or other medical software preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload
- Ability to follow safety rules, confidentiality standards, and HIPAA regulations
- Ability to travel as needed for the position
Responsibilities
- Code diagnoses and procedures accurately for claims
- Bill daily charges and match insurance carriers to billing requirements
- Code chemotherapy, administration, E/M office, and hospital charges
- Review operative and pathology reports from multiple systems
- Apply updated LCD/NCD policies when needed
- Review charts and assign appropriate medical codes
- Obtain missing information or signatures from physician teams
- Ensure timely claim filing
- Report fraud, waste, or abuse concerns
