Responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of patient health records to support coding, reimbursement, physician chart completion, and regulatory compliance.
Key duties include chart deficiency management, unbilled management, mandated registry reporting, and electronic health record (EHR) maintenance. This role also assists providers with medical record deficiencies, oversees suspension processes, and maintains delinquency statistics in accordance with state regulations, hospital policies, HIM procedures, and Joint Commission standards.
Additional responsibilities include supporting operational reports, audits, and quality improvement initiatives, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission requirements, and facility policies.
1-2 years of experience in health information management, medical records, or a healthcare-related clerical role required.
Preferred experience with chart deficiency management, EHR systems, and regulatory reporting.
Knowledge of:
- Medical record workflows, documentation requirements, and regulatory compliance
- Chart deficiency processes, provider suspension workflows, and unbilled management procedures
- EHR systems, document management, and health information technology platforms
- HIM reporting, including deficiency tracking and unbilled account monitoring
Skills and abilities:
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

- Attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism
Certifications preferred:
