Analyzes emergency department, same day surgery, observation, and inpatient encounters for completion by the medical staff.
Reviews patient records from these encounters to ensure all necessary documentation is completed by medical staff and that records meet regulatory and organizational standards.
Ensures records are completed within the specified timeframe, identifies deficiencies or missing information, and maintains compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.
Communicates with medical staff to address and resolve deficiencies and ensures accurate and timely entry of data into the medical records system.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
A high level of computer literacy.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Additional languages preferred.
Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking skills.
Ability to interact professionally with patients, family members, physicians, and other departments.
Knowledge of and compliance with legal requirements, including corporate compliance, OSHA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.
Customer-focused approach and responsible use of resources.
2+ years of experience in an office or hospital environment preferred.
Previous experience handling patient health information and/or medical records strongly preferred.
Applicants must live within driving distance to both Hendersonville and Polk. All training and some meetings will be in person.
