Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital in North Florida providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology services to Union County and surrounding counties.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Health Information Management Supervisor to join the team. This is a full-time, on-site position. The role is a working medical coder position with supervisory responsibilities for other medical coders and the HIM department.

The position involves assigning accurate CPT codes from medical records for billing purposes, ensuring proper documentation for charge capture, staying current with industry guidelines, and reviewing, resolving, and preventing coding denials.

Requirements & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Current certification in ICD-9/CPT-4 coding and ICD-10-CM/PCS
At least 5 years of progressive inpatient and outpatient medical coding experience
Supervisory experience required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Working knowledge of Health Information Management
Thorough knowledge of ICD-9/CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding sets
Ability to operate office equipment, including fax, copier, and computer
