The Health Information Specialist I provides essential support to the Health Information Management and Clinical teams by processing specialty referrals, managing medical records, and assisting with EHR documentation. All work must be performed in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards to ensure accurate, timely, and secure health information practices.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical templates
- Understanding of basic medical transcription guidelines and practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proper grammar, punctuation, and professional style
