HIM Coding and Documentation Educator for Health Information Management on a full-time basis.

This role is responsible for auditing coding and documentation, educating providers and coders, and supporting compliance and quality improvement across inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings.
Requirements & Qualifications
- CPC and CCS licensure required
- Minimum 5 years of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT multi-specialty coding experience
- Extensive knowledge of E/M leveling based on medical decision making
- Strong knowledge of CMS physician and ancillary documentation regulations, E/M, ICD-10-CM, and AMA/CPT coding guidelines
- Familiarity with coding compliance tools, Meditech EMR, and encoder software
- Ability to interpret medical record content and communicate complex concepts to clinical and non-clinical stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently
Preferred:
- RHIT or RHIA
- Bachelor's degree
- Prior experience in a Critical Access Hospital or rural health clinic setting
- CPMA or equivalent credential
- Knowledge of rural health billing, including UB-04 and CMS-1500 claim nuances
