Reviews and validates medical records and related documentation according to established guidelines. Investigates and resolves discrepancies, researching and correcting inaccurate or incomplete records. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to help identify and resolve problems. Prepares reports, presentations, and other documents as instructed.
This role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Training in medical terminology and human anatomy
- Preferred: Certified Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification through AHIMA
- None required for licensure or certification
