Remote contract coding role focused on accurately coding medical records for evaluation and management services, ancillary services, surgical procedures, and diagnoses.
The position involves working independently, meeting project deadlines, preparing coding reports, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and meeting production and quality standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of coding experience
- Coding experience in physician practices and multiple specialties
- Experience with primary care, anesthesia, general surgery, dermatology, and orthopedics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and internet use
- Ability to multitask and work with urgency
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong time management, organization, and work ethic
- CPC or CCS-P required
- CPMA or CEMC preferred
- Additional preferred certifications include COSC, CPCD, CEDC, CGIC, CGSG, CANPC, CHONC, CIRCC, COBGC, and COPC
