Organize, maintain, and retrieve patient health information while ensuring accuracy and security in compliance with privacy regulations.
This role supports healthcare staff by scanning, indexing, filing, and updating paper and electronic health records (EHR) so records are accessible for treatment and billing.
The position is based at Minnie Jones Health Center in Asheville, NC.
Requirements & Qualifications

- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks with attention to detail
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
- Professional interaction with staff, physicians, and the public
- Ability to manage incoming correspondence, phone calls, emails, and EHR messages in a timely manner
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar medical office role preferred
- Comfortable using technology
- Previous experience navigating electronic health records
- Epic EHR experience highly desired
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Certification/Licensure
- Current, unencumbered driver's license
