This position is part of a medical records team that works directly with healthcare providers to obtain medical records and billing statements needed for legal cases. You will spend your day making calls, sending emails, and communicating with medical providers to gather client records while following a structured daily workflow.
The role offers exposure to both the legal and healthcare industries and provides an opportunity to develop organizational skills, task management, and professional communication skills.
Daily responsibilities
- Interact with case managers and providers via phone, email, and chat
- Work through assigned records requests each day
- Retrieve medical records and bills for law firms
- Ensure special authorizations are completed
- Track request progress in the system
- Stay organized and professional while managing a steady workflow
- Think critically through unexpected problems
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable speaking on the phone regularly
- Reliable and willing to learn
- High school diploma or GED required
Physical requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, or bend for extended periods
- Ability to use standard office technology such as a keyboard, computer, headset, and mouse
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- On-site attendance required
Pay and schedule
- $15-$17 per hour starting rate, based on qualifications
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- No nights or weekends
