We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to join our hospice care team. In this role, you will maintain accurate patient records, support compliance with healthcare regulations, assist with release of information requests, and provide essential administrative support to help the team deliver compassionate care.
You will work closely with clinical staff to support patient admissions, conduct medical record audits, maintain a master patient index, and help ensure records are complete, organized, and properly archived.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in office work or a medical records department.
Licenses / Certifications
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Current automobile insurance required.
Skills
- Excellent organizational, record keeping, filing, and typing skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in documentation management.
- Ability to operate computers, fax machines, copiers, and cell phones effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with composure.
- Ability to communicate effectively across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
