CoreCivic is seeking Medical Records Clerks to provide high-quality care in an institutional setting.
The role involves maintaining medical records, coding data to records, reviewing records for completeness and accuracy, preparing reports, abstracting information from records and other patient data, and presenting information effectively.
Additional responsibilities include monitoring outside referrals, coordinating the transfer of medical records, and assisting with the preparation of routine medical and dental reports.
The position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical records maintenance, and the ability to work effectively with others and use personal computers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent
- Eligible for accreditation with the American Health Information Management Association as an Accredited Records Technician (ART), or
- Two years of experience working with patient records in a medical setting such as a hospital, state institution, medical clinic, or physician’s office
- Valid driver’s license preferred unless required by contract or applicable statute
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word for Windows, Lotus 1-2-3 or Excel, and other personal computer applications preferred
- Minimum age requirement: at least 20 years of age
