Medical Records Clerk

Join Gentiva Hospice as a Medical Records Clerk and help support compassionate care delivery in a hospice setting. In this administrative role, you will maintain accurate patient records, support compliance with healthcare regulations, assist with documentation management, and provide general office support to the care team.

You will help ensure medical records are complete, organized, and properly maintained so clinical staff can focus on patient care. The role also includes record audits, release-of-information handling, chart completion, and coordination with clinical teams to support admissions and quality improvement efforts.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education and experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in office work or a medical records department

Licenses and certifications

  • Valid driver's license required
  • Current automobile insurance required

Skills and abilities

  • Strong organizational, record keeping, filing, and typing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in documentation management
  • Ability to operate computers, fax machines, copiers, and cell phones effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with composure
  • Ability to communicate effectively across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Responsible, mature, cooperative, and tactful in workplace interactions
