Assist the Health Information Department in developing and maintaining an efficient electronic medical records system that supports the delivery of quality health care for patients.

Responsibilities
- Collect, date stamp, and review medical record documentation received by fax or mail
- Scan information into the correct tab in the electronic medical record
- Route information to providers for review and/or signature
- Maintain and improve the electronic medical records system in cooperation with the Health Information Management Supervisor
- Protect the integrity of the Health Information Department by following confidentiality and storage policies
- Work with supervisors and managed care entities to perform medical chart reviews
- Collect and review releases of information and distribute them within the medical records department
- Document receipt and transfer of complete releases of information in a timely manner
- Follow infection control and hazardous materials policies
- Participate in the agency's Quality Improvement Program
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of experience required; one year of experience in a medical records setting preferred
- Typing and keyboarding skills are helpful
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position
- Must meet attendance requirements
- Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service internally and externally
