Intake and Scheduling Specialist - Home Care

Human Touch Home Health Care

Join a home health care team in a DC office supporting intake, scheduling, authorizations, and patient coordination for home care services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing authorization, intake, insurance verification, and eligibility tasks
  • Answering client inquiries, taking referrals, and scheduling home care services
  • Entering new patients and updating scheduling and patient information
  • Communicating with clinicians regarding admissions, hospitalizations, discharges, and other changes
  • Maintaining medical records, health information, and referral data
  • Providing clerical and customer service support to the business office
  • Tracking authorization records and supporting payroll data entry for clinicians
  • Coordinating with hospital and insurance personnel regarding coverage and services
Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; AA or BA/BS in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably including at least 1 year in home health or home care nursing
  • Experience with authorization, intake, medical records, and scheduling
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong understanding of HMO, Medicaid, and Medicare payors
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a group
  • Preferred experience with intake and scheduling in home health care
