Join a home health care team in a DC office supporting intake, scheduling, authorizations, and patient coordination for home care services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing authorization, intake, insurance verification, and eligibility tasks
- Answering client inquiries, taking referrals, and scheduling home care services
- Entering new patients and updating scheduling and patient information
- Communicating with clinicians regarding admissions, hospitalizations, discharges, and other changes
- Maintaining medical records, health information, and referral data
- Providing clerical and customer service support to the business office
- Tracking authorization records and supporting payroll data entry for clinicians
- Coordinating with hospital and insurance personnel regarding coverage and services
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; AA or BA/BS in a related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably including at least 1 year in home health or home care nursing
- Experience with authorization, intake, medical records, and scheduling
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong understanding of HMO, Medicaid, and Medicare payors
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a group
- Preferred experience with intake and scheduling in home health care
