The Tumor Registrar - Certified oversees department workflow to ensure regulatory deadlines are met. This role also supports day-to-day schedule management, provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff, and handles more complex registrar functions.
Responsibilities include reviewing inpatient and outpatient medical records for tumor registry eligibility, abstracting and entering data into the database, following up with physicians and other sources to clarify missing information, preparing statistical reports for annual reporting, and tracking cancer patient status updates for required agencies.
Education
- Associate degree required
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required
