Dental Patient Coordinator

The Patient Coordinator supports front-office operations by maintaining efficient scheduling, coordinating patient appointments, verifying insurance, processing payments, and ensuring accurate patient data for billing and reporting. This is a non-clinical role focused on delivering a positive patient experience while supporting office workflow and administrative needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and assisting patients professionally
  • Checking patients in and confirming information in the patient management system
  • Collecting co-payments and checking patients out
  • Running and processing reports
  • Monitoring office email and voicemails
  • Using RevenueWell for confirmations, patient communication, and insurance requests
  • Verifying insurance and assisting with pre-authorizations
  • Closing out daily registers and balancing them
  • Preparing next-day routing
  • Scheduling patients and filling same-day or next-day openings as needed
  • Supporting the Office Manager with end-of-day processes
  • Escalating issues to the Office Manager when needed
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

  • Ability to reliably arrive on time for office opening and scheduled business hours
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule occasionally based on business needs
  • Ability to pass background screening consistent with applicable law and business needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to balance registers accurately
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong ethical conduct and confidentiality practices
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong computer and organization skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and team members in person and by phone
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Dental or medical front desk experience preferred
