Job Summary
Aviata at Santa Barbara is seeking a detailed-oriented and organized Medical Records Coordinator to join the team in Cape Coral, Florida. In this role, you will help maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support patient care. The Medical Records Coordinator / Transportation Aide plays an important role in the smooth operation of the medical records department.
Transportation Duties
This position also includes resident transportation and basic aide responsibilities, such as taking residents to appointments and activities, assisting with daily living tasks, offering companionship, helping with light housekeeping, and supporting meals and medication reminders.
Medical Records Requirements
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and the legal aspects of health information
- On-the-job training provided in medical record and health information system procedures
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certified as a qualified medical records practitioner preferred
- Documented training, supervision, and experience in maintaining medical records and ICD-10-CM/DRG coding
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements
- Compassionate, qualified, and dedicated to quality work
Transportation / CNA Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age
- Florida CNA license
- Ability to read and communicate effectively to perform essential job duties
- Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
- Friendly and professional communication with clients
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving history
- Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
