Aligned Orthopedic Partners is seeking an experienced Patient Service Coordinator for a private orthopedic practice.
- Answers and routes incoming telephone calls
- Documents messages and follows up in a timely manner
- Schedules patient appointments and collects accurate demographic and insurance information
- Explains insurance benefits and practice financial policies to patients
- Manages cancellation lists and reschedules patients as needed
- Ensures patients sign in and present required referrals
- Prepares new patient paperwork and maintains medical record forms
- Registers new patients and updates demographic or insurance changes
- Notifies clinical staff when patients are ready and helps maintain patient flow
- Updates schedules for add-ons or cancellations and notifies billing as needed
- Collects copays, deductibles, coinsurance, visit charges, and DME payments
- Reconciles payments and forwards cash/checks for deposit preparation
- Performs office opening/closing tasks, supply coordination, scanning, and faxing
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to use a multi-line telephone system and billing software
- Keyboard proficiency
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
