Record Review Specialist

Versiti is a health care organization focused on transfusion medicine, donor services, diagnostic laboratories, and precision medicine. The organization supports hospitals, blood centers, and other health care partners with scientific expertise and high-quality services.

The Record Review Specialist reviews records and reports related to donor qualification, blood donation, and lot release to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines. This role verifies quality control and maintenance records, confirms required documentation is complete, and ensures review and lot release occur within established turnaround times.

This position is on-site and follows a Monday through Friday schedule with rotating weekends and some holidays. Typical hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and/or commensurate experience (2+ years) in health care or blood banking is required

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in health care, laboratory, or blood banking required
  • 1+ year of donor qualification or record review experience preferred

Skills and abilities

  • Strong service excellence skills with tact and care in all situations
  • Ability to apply judgment to detailed, structured written or oral instructions
  • Strong organizational and workflow management skills
  • Ability to write complex reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively with donors, volunteers, and employees
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and handle confidential information
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, FDA regulations, and AABB standards related to blood center operations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, detail-oriented, communication, and customer service skills
