The Health Information Management (HIM) Analyst contributes to the integrity and accuracy of patient medical records while working from an off-site remote or hybrid location.
This role performs medical record corrections, merges, un-merges, Epic MyChart assessments, edits, and other record adjustments. The position supports the Health Information Management Department, patients, Revenue Cycle, and other Rush entities.
Work schedule: 8-hour day shift, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Required qualifications
- High school graduate
- 5+ years of health information management (HIM) department or medical records experience
- Proficiency with medical terminology
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
- Functional knowledge of basic office equipment, including phone, copier, scanner, and fax machine
- Strong organization, independence, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- High degree of accuracy and ability to collaborate with others
Preferred qualifications
- AAPC or AHIMA certification
- Experience with OnBase scanning software
- Associate degree
