Facilitates improvement in the overall quality, completeness, and accuracy of clinical documentation for inpatient records. Works concurrently with physicians, case managers, coders, and other care team members to ensure documentation reflects clinical treatment, decisions, and diagnoses. Serves as a resource for documentation guidelines and supports education and training to improve clinical documentation.

Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Licensure / Credentials
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS preferred
Experience
- At least 2 years of coding experience preferred
- Knowledge of concurrent coding and documentation improvement desired
- Knowledge of computerized encoding, grouping, and abstracting systems preferred
