Bluestone is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist to review patient charts and identify opportunities for accurate risk adjustment diagnosis coding.
In this role, you will help improve documentation quality, support appropriate disease capture, and work closely with providers and clinical staff to strengthen coding accuracy. This is a remote-flexible position, but the employee must reside in one of Bluestone's markets: Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Florida.
Schedule: Full-time, weekdays during regular business hours. No evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or a related field
- Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC), Risk Adjustment Coding (RAC), or related risk certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare coding experience with a focus on HCC coding and risk adjustment
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in reviewing and analyzing medical records for documentation deficiencies and coding opportunities
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines, especially as they relate to risk adjustment
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with providers and clinical staff
- Experience providing education and training to healthcare professionals
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote role
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations and privacy laws
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
