The Health Information Management Representative II supports the integrity, accessibility, and secure handling of patient health information at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. This role is responsible for managing discharged and outpatient records, preparing documents for imaging, scanning and uploading electronic images, and supporting the release of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and department policies.
The position also provides customer service to internal staff and external requestors, assists with troubleshooting, supports new hire training, performs quality review of scanned documents, and helps maintain accurate medical record organization across all media. The work is detail-driven and supports patient care, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Epic, preferably in an HIM or patient records environment
- Experience with document imaging and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately manage sensitive information
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or a related field
