The Medical Records Coordinator facilitates the maintenance of participants' medical records for Senior Community Care of North Carolina PACE. This role prioritizes, organizes, and coordinates the acquisition of historical and current records for prospective and active participants to support regulatory compliance and staff needs.
Responsibilities include obtaining discharge summaries for ED, inpatient, and rehab stays, uploading records into the EMR, scanning documents for accessibility, coordinating information exchange, ensuring release-of-information authorization, and compiling records for governmental entities when requested.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with the frail or elderly population
- Prior experience as a Medical Records Coordinator or administrative staff member in an office setting
- Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before direct participant contact
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Good listening and communication skills
Preferred
- CNA or LPN, or an associate's degree
- Experience working independently on projects and standard workload in a healthcare setting
