Assist with maintaining residents' medical records in accordance with facility policies and state and federal regulations. Serve as the facility's designated Compliance Liaison and support health information management, documentation oversight, record retention, and compliance-related communication.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field from an accredited college, or equivalent experience in Health Information
- RHIT or RHIA credential preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a health care facility required
- Skilled nursing facility or long-term care Health Information Management experience preferred
- Knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional practice standards in Health Information Management
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with EMR and/or MatrixCare preferred
- High level of professionalism, integrity, independent judgment, and confidentiality
