Technical & Organizational Specialist

Terros Health is a healthcare organization focused on whole-person care, including primary care, mental health, and substance use treatment. This role supports the Health Information Management (HIM) team by maintaining the quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security of patient medical records across paper and electronic systems.

The Technical & Organizational Specialist assists with compliance, research, issue resolution, process improvement, reporting, and EHR document management functions. The position reports to the Health Information Director and helps ensure health information processes align with regulatory, legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

  • Protect the security and confidentiality of medical records
  • Triages HIM requests for appropriate staffing and follow-up
  • Compiles, organizes, and maintains patient medical records
  • Identifies opportunities to improve HIM processes and efficiency
  • Collaborates with leadership to support medical record maintenance needs
  • Responds to service requests, email, fax, and phone inquiries in a timely manner
  • Prepares reports, narrative summaries, and graphical presentations of HIM metrics
  • Ensures EHR and connected clinical database functions are operating properly
  • Configures and manages EHR document management functions
  • Stays current with HIM standards and practices
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Health Information Management or medical records workflows
  • Knowledge of medical record confidentiality, HIPAA, and EHR security practices
  • Ability to compile, organize, maintain, and report on patient health information
  • Strong communication and coordination skills for handling requests and collaborating with leadership
  • Comfort working with EHR document management systems, clinical databases, and registries
  • Ability to identify process improvements and support compliance efforts
  • Familiarity with HIM standards and practices, including ISO and AHIMA guidance
