Responsible for storing, accessing, requesting, and updating patients’ health records electronically in an office-based cardiology practice.
- File medical histories and other information electronically in patient charts in proper order following department guidelines.
- Communicate with patients and referring provider offices to complete tasks.
- Enter chart information into the EMR system.
- Locate and send electronic records to requesting physicians and departments.
- Use computer systems to track chart inquiries and access other pertinent information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of office experience.
- One year of medical records experience.
- EMR system experience is preferred but not required.
- Must demonstrate current competencies applicable to the job position.
