Supports coordination of benefits review activities that affect medical expenses and premium reimbursement.
Responsible for coordinating benefits with other carriers responsible for payment and providing administrative support, data entry, and accurate maintenance of other insurance records.
Key duties include:
- Providing telephone, administrative, and data entry support for the coordination of benefits team
- Using phone calls and insurance company portals to validate state, vendor, and internal COB leads
- Updating other insurance information in the claims transactional system and COB tracking database
- Contacting CMS directly, or working with internal contacts, to log tickets for premium restoration issues such as Medicare Secondary Payer and ESRD
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 1 year of administrative support experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet internal deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively across a matrixed organization and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and applicable software programs
