Full-time Career Service position with the Florida Department of Health in Lee County supporting the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support for WIC clinic operations
- Interviewing participants for demographics, income eligibility, and immunizations
- Issuing benefits, special formula, and EBT cards
- Operating FL-WiSE terminals, scanners, signature pads, card readers, and pin pads
- Collecting and recording medical data such as height/length, weight, and hemoglobin levels
- Transcribing medical data into the FL-WiSE system
- Reviewing immunization records and documenting results
- Completing nutrition questionnaires and intake history documentation
- Scheduling appointments and answering client/public phone inquiries
- Supporting breastfeeding education and referrals
- Participating in nutrition education and outreach activities
- Traveling to WIC sites as needed
Requirements & Qualifications
Required knowledge and abilities include:
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
- Strong spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills
- Experience performing anthropometrics
- Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment
- Ability to follow office procedures and maintain filing systems
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish effective working relationships
- Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and sit or stand for long periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle
- Ability to work in English; bilingual skills may be used for interpreter duties
