Adventist Health Portland is seeking a full-time Chart Auditor for day shift work onsite in Portland, Oregon.
The role supports the Revenue Management Department by auditing medical records and clinical documentation to ensure proper patient status placement, accurate coding, and defensible payer billing. The position focuses on clinical denials, observation services, documentation gaps, and payer requirements for authorization and coverage.
The auditor collaborates closely with Case Management, Utilization Management, Coding, Medical Officers, and Physician Advisors to reduce denials, improve documentation quality, and support compliance with regulatory and payer standards. The role also provides analytic reporting and feedback to identify trends and educational opportunities.
• Associate's degree in nursing or a related clinical field required • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or healthcare administration preferred • Prior experience in utilization review, case management, coding, or clinical auditing preferred • Current licensed RN in the state of practice, medical provider (MD), or International Medical Graduate with valid credential required • Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Doctor (MD), or Foreign Medical Doctor (FMD) license/credential required
