Provides HIM support to the department as needed to comply with State, Federal, and regulatory requirements. This role includes release of information, prepping, scanning, indexing, and analyzing records in a timely and accurate manner. The position requires strong communication, customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
The System HIM Department spans multiple care settings, including acute care hospitals, behavioral health, physician organizations, home and hospice services, senior services, and post-acute services.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree preferred
Experience
- Three years of experience in medical records, MPI, data integrity, document capture, record analysis, delinquent record monitoring, and/or release of information
- Experience with Epic EHR, MPI, data integrity, document capture, and Excel
License / Certification
- RHIT preferred
