Health Information Analyst / HIM Operations

Provides HIM support to the department as needed to comply with State, Federal, and regulatory requirements. This role includes release of information, prepping, scanning, indexing, and analyzing records in a timely and accurate manner. The position requires strong communication, customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

The System HIM Department spans multiple care settings, including acute care hospitals, behavioral health, physician organizations, home and hospice services, senior services, and post-acute services.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree preferred

Experience

  • Three years of experience in medical records, MPI, data integrity, document capture, record analysis, delinquent record monitoring, and/or release of information
  • Experience with Epic EHR, MPI, data integrity, document capture, and Excel

License / Certification

  • RHIT preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions
  • Effective communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, including email, internet use, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organized, flexible, and able to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work independently and manage time to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a hectic work environment
  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
