Under the general supervision of the Quality Assurance Director, the Health Record Technician II, Specialist is responsible for carrying out various health information and records functions and procedures in the facility.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining confidentiality and security of records
- Ensuring clinical record documents, paper and/or automated, are filed accurately and timely
- Maintaining clinical records to meet regulatory requirements
- Working with structured records and procedures to complete assignments
- Following facility and Department of Developmental Services policies and procedures
- Complying with applicable regulatory standards
- Adhering to policies on operation and security of automated data systems
- Reviewing and updating assigned procedures at least annually
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience working with health information or medical records functions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure handling of clinical records
- Ability to file and maintain records accurately and in a timely manner
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and structured procedures
- Ability to work with automated data systems and follow security policies
- Ability to complete assigned documentation and update procedures as needed
- Must meet the minimum qualifications stated in the classification specification
