The DRG Revenue Integrity Auditor performs Diagnostic Related Group (DRG) validation and quality audits on inpatient charts. This role reviews medical records to ensure the patient’s clinical picture is accurately reflected through assigned codes and that coding is compliant with federal regulations.
The position focuses on validating ICD-10-CM/PCS sequencing, POA assignments, SOI/ROM, HCC capture, and other coding factors. The auditor also identifies query opportunities, supports CDI activities, contributes to training materials, and assists with data analysis and reporting.
This is a remote, full-time position.
- CCS required
- 5+ years of experience in an acute care setting or third-party vendor role as a DRG Auditor or Clinical Documentation Specialist
- Experience with telecommuting and electronic medical record systems
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with common office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple clients/projects, and maintain productivity and quality standards
- Knowledge of coding guidelines, CDI best practices, reimbursement, and compliance issues
