Perform home infusion collections for a revenue cycle management team, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and reducing denials, days sales outstanding (DSO), and bad debt. This role supports insurance and patient collections, claim follow-up, appeals, and documentation in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Review outstanding claims and determine the next steps needed to collect revenue
- Follow up with insurers and patients regarding unpaid balances
- Use payer portals to review claim disposition
- Analyze EOBs, remittance advices, denials, and claim acceptance documents
- Identify denial reasons, take corrective action, and manage claims through resolution
- Track denial trends and recommend process improvements
- Research payer requirements for appeals and submit supporting documentation
- Verify insurance information, review coding, and gather records as needed
- Communicate with franchise partners and internal departments about claim status
- Document account activity, correspondence, and follow-up tasks in the system
- Investigate benefits for pharmacy and medical third-party claims
- Share billing issues and support training, policies, and procedures for the RCM team
- Assist with online adjudication of collection issues and nurse billing as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience and qualifications:
- 2-5 years of home infusion billing and/or collections experience
- High school diploma plus specialized training in intake, pharmacy/medical billing, or collections
- Strong knowledge of billing and collections processes across payer types
- Ability to analyze documentation, identify issues, and take corrective action
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization and record-keeping skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and pharmacy applications
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision
- Prior remote work experience preferred but not required
