Dental Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant to join a dynamic dental team. In this role, you will provide support to dentists, help ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience, and contribute to a welcoming environment for patients. This position includes paid training and ongoing professional development.

Requirements & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Take digital dental radiographs
  • Ask about patient medical history and take blood pressure and pulse
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
  • Provide oral care instructions following surgery and other procedures
  • Take digital impressions of patients' teeth for study casts
  • Perform office management tasks
  • Communicate with patients and suppliers, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, billing, and ordering supplies

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency with EMR systems for managing medical records and documentation
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices
  • Experience with dental imaging techniques, including X-ray procedures and 3D scanner operation
  • Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures in a dental setting
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures
  • Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and educate patients
  • Experience is helpful, but not required
