The Oncology Financial Navigator supports patients throughout cancer treatment by helping reduce financial barriers to care.
- Provides individualized financial guidance and navigation services.
- Works with clinical operations, physicians, Patient Access, Authorization, Patient Accounts, and assistance programs.
- Identifies financial barriers and helps patients access treatment with minimal financial hardship.
- Conducts financial assessments before treatment to identify support options.
- Helps patients understand coverage, assistance resources, and available programs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Related experience in coding, billing, or insurance precertification may be considered in lieu of education.
- Associate degree in Medical Coding or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of medical business office experience with insurance procedures, billing, and patient interaction preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, CMS guidelines, and cancer terminology.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Outlook.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with the oncology team.
