Plasma Fibroblast

Plasma Fibroblast – What You Need To Know

Plasma fibroblast therapy is a relatively new cosmetic facial treatment. It is an aesthetic procedure that healthcare providers offer as an alternative to laser, injections and surgery to tighten and improve the appearance of the skin. Read on to find out how it works, costs and if you could be a good candidate.

What Is Plasma Fibroblast

Plasma fibroblast therapy targets the fibroblasts in your skin. These are collagen proteins produced by cells in the outer layers of the skin.

Fibroblasts play an important role in healing the wounds of the skin and maintaining firmness and elasticity. This therapy uses a fibroblast plasma pen which emits a high-frequency electric current into a small area of the skin. The plasma tip does not touch the skin, but releases a targeted current into the skin. This creates a small hole (micro injury) in the skin layer.

According to a study published in PMFA journal in 2019, plasma fibroblast breaks down proteins in the skin to promote tissue regeneration and stimulates fibroblast activity, causing tissue contractions and tightening.

Fibroblast Plasma Treatment

Plasma treatments use the fourth state of matter: plasma. The plasma of the human body.

In principle, fibroblast plasma is an ionized gas in the air that produces tiny wounds in the skin and epidermis. When the electric waves touch the skin surface, the heat generated is transferred to the epidermis, where it reaches the papillary layer in which the fibroblast cells are located. By sublimating the tissue, we prevent the spread of heat.

This leads to the contraction and hardening of the skin cells. Excess skin is reduced, resulting in a comparable reduction in lifting and wrinkles.

Plasma fibroblast is a non-invasive, nonsurgical procedure that provides the same or comparable results as traditional surgery. During the treatment, local anaesthesia is applied to ensure a painless procedure.

It is advisable not to apply cosmetic products containing alcohol to the treated area. During the consultation, the client should mention all current surgical or cosmetic procedures.

Fibroblast plasma treatment is a safe procedure with very rare side effects. It is based on the natural stimulation of the skin regeneration therefore the risks are not comparable in the world of traditional surgery. Possible side effects are inflammation, scarring and minor changes in skin pigmentation, which are very rare.

Aftercare is one of the most important components of the treatment, and customers should follow the aftercare instructions carefully to achieve perfect results. The instructions are summarized below:

  • Do not remove the scab by cleaning the area treated.
  • Continue to apply an aftercare cream to the area, especially if the area is sensitive to sunlight, as the cream contains SFP to protect the area.
  • Avoid saunas, swimming pools and any kind of activities that pose an infection risk to the treated area.
  • Make sure to protect this area from direct sunlight until the skin has fully regenerated, which can take 2-3 weeks.
  • Do not use products that contain alcohol or perfumes.
  • If scab falls off, colloidal silver should be applied to prevent inflammation.
  • Do not cover everything with a plaster or bandage, it needs natural air to heal.

Patients may notice the results immediately, but it may take 2-4 weeks for the full effect to be visible.

This procedure can be used for many different skin conditions, including:

  • Eyelid lift
  • body lift
  • acne treatment
  • threading of veins
  • scar correction
  • removal of stretch marks

If you suffer from any of the conditions above and are reluctant to perform a traditional surgical procedure, then a non-invasive fibroblast plasma treatment might be the right solution for you.
