CPT code 97761 – Prosthetic Training (2021)

97761 – Prosthetic training may be considered reasonable and necessary if there is an indication for education for the application of a prosthetic and the functional use of a prosthetic is present and documented in the patient’s medical records maintained by the provider.

97761 – Periodic revisits beyond the third month must meet medical necessity requirements.

97761 – One would not expect to see more than 30 minutes of prosthetic training billed on a given date. Additional training must meet medical necessity requirements.
