2. Procedure

The procedure for scalp cooling therapy involves several key steps, which are detailed below:

• Initial Measurement and Calibration The first step in the procedure is the initial measurement and calibration of the cooling cap. This involves fitting the cap to the patient's head to ensure a snug and effective fit. The cap is designed to circulate coolant, and proper calibration is essential for maintaining the desired temperature throughout the treatment.
• Pre-Treatment Cooling The patient wears the cooling cap for 30 minutes prior to the commencement of chemotherapy. This pre-treatment phase is crucial as it allows the scalp to reach the necessary low temperature, which helps to constrict blood vessels and prepare the hair follicles for the upcoming chemotherapy session.
