In this role, you will review and accurately code medical records, including diagnoses, procedures, and services, using current coding systems such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
Primary duties include:
- Analyzing medical documentation to assign appropriate codes for billing and reimbursement purposes
- Ensuring compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and policies
- Collaborating with healthcare providers to clarify documentation when necessary
- Maintaining accurate and complete records for audit and quality assurance purposes
- Staying updated on changes in coding standards and healthcare regulations
