This role is for an inpatient coding professional who can work from home while applying strong ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding expertise in an acute care environment. The position offers the flexibility of remote work and the opportunity to support a reputable organization with long-term client partnerships.
The team is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist to work on a PRN or full-time basis, maintain high-quality coding standards, and meet productivity expectations while working independently.
Requirements & Qualifications
- AHIMA or AAPC certification (CPC, CIC, or COC)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting
- Experience coding ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnosis and procedure codes
- Knowledge of MS-DRG coding classification systems
- Technical competency with remote-based connectivity tools, including VPNs, MFA via smartphone, and video conferencing platforms
- Proficiency with Outlook and Excel
- Ability to maintain a reliable, punctual schedule
- Ability to meet productivity targets while maintaining coding quality of 95% or greater
