BayCare Health System is seeking a Medical Records Outpatient Coder III to work remotely on a full-time basis. The role focuses on reviewing short-stay encounters and accurately assigning diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4. The position supports multiple departments by helping resolve missing documentation and monitoring bill hold reports. This role also includes mentoring and training support for less experienced coders and clinical practice students.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required
- RHIT preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in Health Information Management preferred
- 5 years of outpatient facility coding experience required
- Strong CPT coding knowledge
- Experience with emergency room (ED), same-day surgery (ambulatory), and observation cases
