Medical Coder for a medical insurance billing and revenue cycle department in the Passaic County, NJ area.
The role focuses on professional coding from clinical documentation, supporting physicians with coding accuracy, and contributing to proper billing practices across office, hospital, and procedure settings.
New hires will complete an approximately 60-day training period and will work in the office regularly during training.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Comprehensive working knowledge of CPT and ICD codes
- Experience reading and coding directly from Progress Notes and Operative Reports
- Ability to apply coding accurately from clinical documentation
- Ability to advise physicians on coding questions and billing accuracy
- Familiarity with office, hospital, and procedure billing
- Strong communication skills, especially proactive communication
- Strong organization, timeliness, and accuracy
- CPC certification and E-Clinical Works experience preferred
