GeBBS Healthcare Solutions is a leader in Health Information Management and Revenue Cycle Management. The company is seeking credentialed outpatient coder specialists to join its team in a part-time temporary role.
As an Outpatient Facility Coding Specialist, you will code diseases, operations, and procedures for outpatients in accordance with ICD-10-CM, UHDDS, and AMA CPT-4 standards. The role supports accuracy and compliance in coding practices for large trauma Level I facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coding outpatient procedures according to client specifications
- Abstracting patient data with accuracy and compliance
- Staying current on coding policies and procedures
- Using healthcare abstracting software and ICD-10 data sets
- Initiating physician queries per client-specific procedures
- Monitoring and communicating regulatory changes to the Coding Supervisor
Requirements & Qualifications
- Credentialed medical coder with at least 3 years of experience
- AHIMA preferred; AAPC may be considered
- Experience in facility outpatient coding for large trauma Level I facilities is essential
- Experience with SDS, OBS, and OP coding preferred
- IR/Cath experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Must be available between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday
- Part-time schedule of 20 hours per week
- Temporary assignment expected through mid-September
