ChristianaCare is seeking a full-time Acute Care Coder with inpatient procedure coding experience to support accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT coding, data abstraction, and reimbursement-related reporting. This role is 100% remote and open to national candidates.
The coder will review inpatient, outpatient, emergency medicine, ancillary, and diagnostic records; assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes; support billing and data quality; and ensure coding is completed in accordance with official guidelines and productivity expectations.
Must have experience with acute care and inpatient procedure coding.
- Knowledge of ICD-10-PCS inpatient procedure coding and CPT coding guidelines and principles
- College diploma in Medical Coding or one year of coding experience in a healthcare environment required
- Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Technology preferred
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology and medical terminology
- Working knowledge of pathophysiology and basic pharmacology
- Knowledge of official inpatient and outpatient coding guidelines
- Ability to accurately review, abstract, sequence, and code patient records
- Inpatient/acute care coding experience required
