Position: Certified Professional Coder / Bill Review Expert
Location: Remote
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Status: Non-exempt, full-time
The role reviews medical bills related to motor vehicle accident injuries for NJ and/or NY-covered insureds, applies CPT/HCPCS coding and fee schedule guidelines, and documents review outcomes clearly for customers. The position may also involve conference calls, testimony, trial support, and special projects.
3–5 years of experience conducting code reviews, specifically with NJ/NY PIP fee schedules
Active CPC certification in good standing through AAPC
Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, coding and documentation requirements
High-level understanding of fee schedule guidelines in NY, NJ, FL, or MI
Ability to interpret medical documentation and identify coding errors, unbundling, and modifier issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to explain review outcomes clearly
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote setting
Excel skills beyond beginner level
Willingness to travel for testimony and to the Hamilton, NJ office as needed
