This role is for a Medical Coder responsible for reviewing patient medical records after visits and translating documentation into codes used by insurers to process claims and reimbursements. The position is onsite.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Coding Certificate
- RHIT or CPC certification by AAPC or AHIMA, or applicable state licensure
- Maintain coding certification and complete in-service training as required
- 1 year of medical coding experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer skills, including data entry, coding, Electronic Medical Record software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Goal-oriented and organized team player
